Co-Founder / Director of Research
Froilan specializes in international migration, diplomacy, labor rights, and education in the Asia-Gulf migration corridor. He previously worked as a project manager / senior international relations specialist at the Abu Dhabi Dialogue, and completed various consultancy projects for international organizations, including the International Labor Organization (ILO), International Organization for Migration (IOM). He also delivered academic and policy lectures in more than 30 countries in Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, and was recently featured by the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization’s main website for his ongoing work on global migration and education. He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from Cornell University, University of Oxford, European University Institute, and is currently a graduate student in the Department of Politics and International Relations at the University of Cambridge.
Co-Founder / Director of Operations
Over the past five years, Angelo has taught diverse students from multiple academic curriculums (British, American, International Baccalaureate, Indian, French) where he primarily focused on Mathematics education in the Philippines and the United Arab Emirates. He has extensively traveled across Asia and the Pacific and the Middle East regions. He holds an undergraduate degree from the University of the Philippines – Diliman, where he is also currently pursuing his postgraduate diploma in Mathematics Education. He is also an avid long-distance runner and an up-and-coming fiction writer.
Co-Founder / Director of Public Relations
Asad is currently pursuing his BA in Advertising, Public Relations, and Branding at Middlesex University-Dubai. He has previously worked with small and medium enterprises in the UAE, specializing in digital marketing and advertising. He has traveled across South Asia, Central Asia and the Middle East regions. He is also fluent in multiple languages, including Urdu, English, Hindi, Arabic, and Punjabi (regional dialect).
Educator / International Partner (Philippines)
Karen is a licensed public elementary school teacher under the Department of Education (DepED) Lubao North District in the Philippines. Over the past eight years, she has taught in multiple elementary schools at all grade levels in the rural Philippines, including at Rizal Conception Elementary School (6 years) and San Francisco Elementary School (2+ years). Currently ranked as Teacher III, Karen specializes in mathematics for intermediate pupils, while providing strategic student support systems throughout SFES, including student counseling/guidance, Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) coordination, student publications and research, and other technical-related support for all students and faculty members.
Apart from her extensive educational experiences, she is also a volunteer worker and executive secretary/researcher for San Francisco Lubao Free Farmers Association, a non-profit organization for rural farmers. Karen holds a BA in Business Teacher Education from Polytechnical University of the Philippines, where she is also currently completing her Masters degree in Business Education.
Co-Founder / Director of Public Relations Social Work / International Partner (USA)
Matet is currently the Director of Social Work at Palo Alto Sub-Acute Rehabilitation Center in California, USA. Over the past decade, Matet has both worked in the field of health care and social work in major California cities, including Palo Alto, Menlo Park, and San Francisco, serving multiple private homecare and social work agencies as a caregiver (for 8+ years) and an ombudsman officer. She has also previously interned for various OFW civil society groups in the UAE, United Kingdom (London), providing welfare assistance to Filipino migrant workers. Matet holds an undergraduate degree from the University of California – Berkeley, and is expected to start her graduate degree in Social Work at Columbia University this coming Fall 2020.
Henri has been a media practitioner and journalist since graduating from Ateneo de Davao University with a degree in Mass Communications.
She made her mark with ABS-CBN Davao as a field reporter, news presenter, and segment producer for TV Patrol Davao in the 90s, covering politics, police drug war, kidnapping for ransom, Moro secession war, presidential visits, and writing human interest stories.
She had her start in the publishing industry with a stint as Circulation Manager of the glossy fashion and lifestyle Mega Magazine, when she relocated to Metro Manila.
Henri’s journalism and editorial careers in the UAE, started in the mid-2000 as Middle East Editor for Oxygen Magazine, a global health and lifestyle publication, before she was tapped by Dubai government-owned Al Sada Publishing to become the content and fashion editor for Shabab20 Young Plus Teen Magazine.
Henri was later asked to join a pool of Filipino writers and editors of Kabayan Weekly, the first Filipino newspaper in the UAE, culminating her position as editor-in-chief during its transition as a news magazine.
She has also worked a staff reporter and content editor for The Filipino Times (TFT), a weekly Filipino newspaper where she also pioneered its first webcast TFT in Focus both as scriptwriter and presenter.
After finishing her tenure with TFT, Henri joined Philippine-based news website Newsline Philippines in 2017 as its UAE correspondent. She was later promoted as UAE bureau chief, a position she still holds at present.
